Make Your Own Rap Beats - For Beginners and Pros Alike, Share With Friends, Even Sell Online!

,
MAKING MUSIC BEATS :

In case you're wondering, unleashing top quality Hip Hop or Rap beats that the world is dying to hear isn't out of your reach or something that should be left to top Hip Hop or Rap artists like R. Kelly, Jay Z, Snoop Dogg, or Dr. Dre.

Make Your Own Rap Beats - For Beginners and Pros Alike, Share With Friends, Even Sell Online!

Not any more. With a little help and the right tools, anyone, even with no prior knowledge or experience in beat making can put together impressive sounds that's uniquely theirs, professionally produced, and in any style, from Jazz to Rap.

Music that that you can share with friends in mp3 format, burn to a CD, even sell online.

So if you're trying to break into the world of Hip Hop or Rap, or any kind of music for that matter, you can now start surprisingly quickly from scratch and create something that a lot of people will love. Even become the next Dr. Dre.

And just where do you begin?

First of all, in order to pluck something out of your head and turn it into something for the world to enjoy you must have the right tools to help get it right. Depending on where you are or where you're heading, a good quality beat making software is all you may need, preferably something Internet-based. A stand-alone, 'one-stop studio' with multi-track sequencer and with mp3 transfer that'll enable you to produce and export studio grade sounds but without studio grade prices.

Fortunately Internet-based beat making systems can cost as little as 40 bucks so getting started is now easier (and cheaper) than ever. Perfect for beginners, they're also ideal for the pro or for anyone looking to add professional flair to their existing audio projects, with a chance at even becoming the next big hit!

But it all begins with an idea and the right tools. You may already have some lyrics and simply want to add some sounds that'll have everyone going wild. Start there!

You may or may not have a particular beat in mind, though. Here's where your beat making machine comes in. If it's Internet based, more likely than not, it's part of a membership site with a huge database of pre-programmed audio tracks, all royalty free, that you can use as a guide or starting point --THOUSANDS -- from Spanish guitar, piano, drums, to timbales, and many, many more, ready to be dropped into any project!

Their beat making software will also guide you on how to structure your beats. But it's always a good idea to start with some percussion or drum first to create a little bounce, then add a hook, which may include a bass-line, guitar, synth-sound, etc. You'll even be given keyboard access so you can add all kinds of "jingles". If you're good at playing the piano, so much the better. You'll undoubtedly be able to create better chord progressions, better sounding melodies and generally do far more with your beats.

Having a good ear for listening to different type beats and sounds is also a good thing. But that isn't essential. Importantly, start with something that you're familiar with or something that reflects you. That's important or you might end up with a beat that you can't even identify with or something totally alien to you.

The system will also allow you to experiment with your beats such as mixing-in any number of sounds, etc. And allow you to save you work as you go so you can check your progress (even offline) and make any necessary changes later.

Some membership sites will even link you up with other like-minded beat makers so you can share ideas, beats, download each other's samples and get feedback.

NOTE: Do not make your beats too complicated. Also try to put something catchy in there (lyric or sound) to encourage listeners or fans to keep on listening.

And what can you do with your finished tracks?

1. Burn them to a CD and take them with you everywhere!

2. Share with friends!

3. Use them as background music for your Web site to create more happy customers!

4. Create a service to others!

5. Add professional flare to online video or multi-media projects. It's a chance to become the next featured YouTube.com success story OR, getting an Audio Podcast all the way to the top of the iTunes Podcast Directory!

6. Sell to fans and others offline in MP3 or on CD!

7. Find artists looking for new beats. Even send a CD to all of the record labels you can find.

Or sell online. Rap and Hip Hop beats get searched for (on Google, other search engines and elsewhere online), millions of times per year! That essentially means millions of potential customers not just in the USA, but worldwide.

Simply upload samples of your work to the Internet and make them available for listening to OR, upload them for sale on sites such as Rocbattle.com.

Never has it been this easy to achieve so much in the music industry without a huge price tag, not to mention the opportunity to sell your music to millions of potential customers worldwide, many for life.

Finally, do not rush when creating your first beat. Focus instead, on delivering that good old hook that everyone's dying for. Importantly, treat it as a first product that sets the stage for the next, hundreds more in the weeks, months or years ahead, or where ever your dreams lead.

Invisible - NOT CYBER - Bullying in the School: Part III - The School Bus and the Classroom

,
MAKING MUSIC BEATS :

This is the third in a series of three articles related to Invisible Bullying. We refer to it as invisible because it is happening virtually within 25 feet or less from adult supervision and it is going completely unrecognized because the supervisors are often on a completely different "wavelength" from the students they are supervising. Like the adults in the Charlie Brown specials, they are invisible to the students and speak a different language.

Invisible - NOT CYBER - Bullying in the School: Part III - The School Bus and the Classroom

We refer to this as Decontextualized Supervision, and although it can prevent seriously bodily harm and make sure people get outside in a natural disaster and maintain general law and order, it does nothing to assist the victims of bullying during the school day. We spoke in Part I of the bullying that occurs in plain sight in the school hallways. Teachers, before you punish a child who is continually late to class automatically, will you please look at that child and ask yourself if this person looks like a person intent on beating the system or one who someone intends to beat on. If you are not sure, err on the side of caution and begin with the assumption that the child is purposely taking the long way to avoid hallway bullies that he or she dreads having to pass each day- because they are really lurking out there- even if you don't see them.

In the cafeteria, what do you surmise when a kid shows you his new Social Studies Book with a piece of pizza smooshed in the middle? If there are kids that always go to help the librarian instead of going to lunch, does anyone ask the child why?

More children than you would think dread walking in the hallways and going to the cafeteria because of the constant abuse. Yet, for us adults, most of the time we glance into the cafeterias or down the hallway, and everything looks fine to us, except for perhaps a little too much noise. Which group- the kids or the adults have a mistaken impression? Which group of people is out of touch with the realities of the situation? Which group is working with no contextual backdrop? As a supervisor of students, what skills have you developed beyond making comments like, "Keep it down you people, or else!" "If I have to come down there you aren't going to like it!"and, "I want the both of you to knock it off or you will be seeing me for detention for the next week!" When you said that last one, was it really an even battle, or might someone be the constant perpetrator?

So, we have spoken about the hallways and the cafeteria as being dreaded places for many young people. Next we will talk about the school bus, and this of course, includes getting on and off the school bus at the beginning of each day- another big reason for latenesses to school- an effort to avoid the gauntlet!

The law asserts that the school is responsible for each student who is transported to school from the time they leave their house in the morning till they return. That, of course, is ridiculous because we have enough to worry about in the building and since administrators are not really like the assistant principal in Ferris Bueller's Day Off- running all over town chasing people like idiots, to expect the school to police someone's street for the thugs that dwell there is very unrealistic. That being said, once again the bullies are at work at the bus stop in the morning terrorizing the weakest kids. Is anyone surprised that most new Elementary & Secondary schools are being built with pick-up lanes and older buildings have changed the traffic patterns in the parking lot for the cars of parents who drop off and pick up their children each day? 15 years ago, kids either walked to school or rode the bus, with very few parent pick-ups Overprotective? Tell it to the parents of children undergoing this terror every day. Additionally, even the students who are not bothered have learned early on to keep their mouths shut lest they be next on some bully's "Hit list".

An additional problem is that, in a school district where the population is sparse, there is only one bus run and all the schools in the district start and end at the same time. This means that your kindergarten child is on the bus every day with high school students, hearing all of the jokes, the verbal and physical abuse, and maybe even providing the bullies with additional easy targets for money, pencils, pens, markers, as well as abuse.

Another problem that nobody grasps is that almost all school districts, in an effort to contract out for everything including teachers, have done away with their busses and hired an independent contractor. The job of bus driver now is taken by someone happy to work part time and with no idea about discipline codes of the school and the disciplinary process. We recall one situation where a bus driver blared a radio the entire ride to and from school with religious music. Another driver curses and swears at the kids who are experts at getting an untrained adult to "take the bait" and lose their temper. In a school bus, people are hit, kicked, spat upon, verbally, assaulted, groped, propositioned, denied seats, their books and belongings are tampered with, they are tripped, the abuse folks, is endless. Occasionally you can see a story of a parent who, fed up with the school's process, takes matters into her own hands and enters the bus to confront the bullies. Attention you professionals- this is real stuff- we aren't making it up, and it is torture every day for children that nobody in the school ever hears about, and the driver cannot be expected to see since his or her eyes are on the road. Occasionally, an untrained bus driver will try to set up some kind of specific seating, and often they operate, like the supervisors in the school, with incomplete knowledge of who the culprits really are or they completely ignore the bullies in the hopes that nothing big will happen that day. The truth is, nothing actually noticeable ever happens when a adult watches, yet a girl could still be having lewd remarks about oral sex whispered in her ear, or a kid could be getting touched in some inappropriate way or having someone tamper with their violin, and no adult can see it and no one dares talk about it. The students law of Omerta- is even more iron clad than the Mafia.

I bet you think this is all exaggerated- I mean, really, it can't be that bad can it? After all, I work in an upper middle class place that fancies itself to be like a private school. Please, we implore you school people, make friends with the students who operate on the dark side. They will enlighten you as to the goings on in their world that you don't see even if you are looking in the right direction. Well-to-do students can be as cruel and heartless and, in our experience, often even more so than their less fortunate counterparts- and the parents of these children are much quicker to threaten bringing in the "dream team" of lawyers as opposed to working with the school to improve their child's behavior.

Now we switch to the classroom where one would think that law and order and the prevention of bullying would be the easiest to accomplish because there is a confined area with a teacher watching. Here are some examples of how children can be bullied in plain sight right in the classroom. I take you back to 1965. We are in the band room of a suburban high school where the morning rehearsal is taking place. A very overweight Japanese boy was the tuba player. At least twice a week, the bullies, of which the writer was at least an encouragement to the bullies would have him kicked out of band practice for passing gas out loud during the rehearsal. When the loud gas-passing sound occurred, everyone in the section would get up and walk away yelling, " Ugh, Benny (his nickname) that's disgusting", "I'm not sitting near him", "he's a pig", etc. This would happen during a pause in the playing and the band director's attention was diverted. The band director, ever the willing dupe, went for the frame up and would angrily toss Benny out of the rehearsal. The problem was, Benny was not passing gas- one of his tormentors was making the gas passing sound, and when it was made, everyone in the section joined in the collective disgust at "Benny" passing gas. In an assembly, when there was a lull in a speech being given by the principal about patriotism, this writer, seated halfway back in the middle of a row, got up to use the lavatory. A "friend" yelled out, "This is boring, I'm Leaving!!! Everyone in the auditorium immediately looked at me and I stood there trying to tell nobody in particular that it wasn't me who said that. I got detention for a week and worse, of course, since it was still the sixties, even more when I got home.

That is one kind of dilemma. Here's the next one. A student punches another student in class or pushes his books off the desk for example. The victim, tired of the constant abuse that has been going on every day decides to confront the bully. The teacher turns around from writing on the board, sees the victim standing up in front of the bully in a confrontational pose and immediately sends the victim to the office for his/her aggressive behavior. Do you know your students? After the first few days, any experienced teacher already knows, either by sight, or through the grapevine, which student requires constant scrutiny. When the bully is sitting there looking innocent and a non bully is striking an aggressive pose, do you think that might be a good time- or perhaps after class, to delve into the story with greater intellectual curiosity? The bullies, friends, know the precise moment to strike. As a teacher, do you pay attention to who is going to the lavatory and the time the person always goes? You are right, it's an impossibility for the most part. Know that abuse is occurring in the lavatory constantly. Creating a process which disturbs the process of the bullies is a good thing, but a teacher must be aware of the context. False equivalency where both parties are told essentially to "sit down and shut up- both of you!" is hurtful to the one who was not doing anything in the first place, but it does bring order, if not justice, to the classroom. Call some Moms and invite them in to sit with their child throughout the class. When the grapevine learns of what you did, most people will stop their devious actions because the shame of one's Mother sitting in class next to him or her will be a sufficient deterrent.

How about the locker room? How about students paying another student money to snap a picture of someone in the locker room changing clothes and having it go viral? Tampering with one's clothing and belongings, stealing, physical abuse, verbal abuse is occurring all the time in the locker room and the teacher is generally sitting in his or her office or waiting for the students in the gym. Yes, we realize that the school district refuses to hire anyone past a half day because then they have to give the person benefits, but if there is any place that needs constant watching it is the locker room. Do you have any idea how many students never dress for gym in the high school, choosing instead to take an F and then take Physical Education in summer school where they are required to, for example, walk around the building each day or swim, or go bowling?

Finally, you have all heard the adage, usually said in jest that, "You just can't find good help anymore!" Well that adage is true in the world of substitute teachers. Most schools cannot find enough trained teachers to serve as substitute teachers. We have seen substitutes actually sleeping in class and others who smell as though they have never showered. Most commonly, however, the substitute teacher seldom, if ever is actually certified in the area of the person he or she is replacing. Now you have a situation like this... A student who strikes another student is seen by the substitute teacher who asks, "What is your name young man?" "Joe Smith!" answers the student.

Bullies love substitute teachers because to begin with, they don't know anybody's name. Add to this the fact that the new teachers we see today are different than the old timers who saved up every day so when it came time to retire, the retiring teacher could collect full pay for a year or more. Today's teacher misses school for the slightest reason without any regard for 30 years from now. The result- infinitely more days with substitute teachers coming in when they can be found.

The week after Thanksgiving is Christmas shopping week, for example- don't look for a full staff in that week! When substitutes can't be found the regular staff is asked to watch the class during their duty free period or whole classes are sent to the auditorium where adults who would rather be somewhere else are assigned the task of watching the students during a duty-free period. Check the floor of the auditorium after a couple of mass coverage classes... that will give you some idea about the passion that the supervisor is bringing to the task at hand.

In summary we make these assertions and offer these admonitions.

  1. Most of the bullying that occurs in schools occurs in plain sight and goes unperceived by adults because the adults cannot conceive of such a thing happening in such a place. They approach their responsibility with no grasp of context. They are good at keeping the noise down. No justice can be expected here for the victims. The greatest plans by mental health professional and counselors are doomed to failure without a grasp by the adults of the world in which a student operates.
  2. There is no actual safe place in the school from a bully. The busier the place the better. Bullies need to experience some discomfort and disruption of their process. Be creative. Get Mom in there to walk next to Junior all day for starters. Machiavelli would have referred to this as a "Signal Example"- the effect of which is to deter future bullies- it's the reason that the law considers punitive or exemplary damages- to send a message to future would-be wrongdoers.
  3. Take a close look at students who frequently miss school, are late for school or class, never dress for gym, or never go to the cafeteria because they want to help a teacher. Do all of these people really look like trouble makers trying to beat the system thus deserving of letter- of- the- law school discipline or do they give off a different message?
  4. Have a meeting in August with all bus drivers to explain to them how the disciplinary process works so there might be a shred of consistency between this disparate group of individuals, most of whom think school discipline would be no problem if the administrators would just "kick a little more butt." Nobody told them that this kind of punishment is generally against the law- and educators do not make the law- politicians do- educators just try to carry out the law.
  5. Have incentives for teachers who do not miss any school days. At least they know the names of the students. The bullies hate that!
  6. Take the time to develop a working relationship with students who are usually on the wrong side of the discipline code. Many of them are dying to talk to an adult about what is going on but no one has ever taken the time. The police ALWAYS have their informants who operate under cover. Have incentives for these individuals too. The effect will be to disrupt the plans of the Bully. You will know, for example, when someone has brought a weapon to school. In one district, we excelled at this. Kids were always coming in early to tell us things. They became very caring too and would alert you if a certain student looked "strange" that day and could be on drugs, or drunk, for example.

We guarantee that you will be amazed at what you, the adult, did NOT know about what was really going on- even if it was hiding in plain sight. Bullying is never going to go away. Schools are a microcosm of the society we live in. How civil is that society these days? A look at the embarrassing behavior of our elected officials should provide you with some clue as to how fast bullying will disappear. Creativity, perseverance, and awareness are crucial to making any changes in the status quo- get some parents and kids on your side as well.

Please Don't Make THIS Mistake

,
MAKING MUSIC BEATS :

I want to share something that is breaking my heart. Over the last month Paige and I have had several conversations with amazing people, who have incredible gifts, who are feeling like throwing in the towel.

Please Don't Make THIS Mistake

These are business owners who have a deep desire to help people, to change lives and to help heal the planet, but they feel like they have made too many mistakes. They say they are feeling like failures. Their family and friends think they're crazy. They feel like there is no reason to go on struggling.

This breaks my heart, because I also know what it feels like to not give up, to get to the other side of that and to experience success, and I don't want these women to stop before the music inside them gets out.

Now I want to share something that makes my heart sing...

Paige and I were watching an interview with the Jazz great Wynton Marsalis the other day and he said something that I think if every single heart-centered entrepreneur and solo-preneur can hear it and take it to heart, it would absolutely change their experience of being in business...

What did he say and why is it important to your business?

Well when the interviewer asked him about success, about breaking new ground and transforming the world of jazz, Wynton said, "If you ain't makin mistakes, you ain't trying."

What an amazing thing to say. So arguably one of the greatest and brightest living musicians and composers is saying that when transforming the world it's okay to not be perfect, it's okay to make mistakes and it's okay to not be concerned with what others are thinking about us.

Now okay, you may be thinking, "Well that's music, but what about another field where it's 'okay' to make mistakes?"

Well here's something to ponder...Babe Ruth, who is famous for his home-run record, also held the record for strikeouts, he hit an amazing 714 home runs, but struck out an astonishing 1330 times. He's been quoted as saying, "Every strike brings me closer to the next home run."

"Yeah, but that's sports, what's that got to do with being in business and being an entrepreneur?"

How about the poet Maya Angelou, who by the time she was in her early twenties, had been a streetcar conductor, a cook, a cocktail waitress, a dancer, a madam, and an unwed mother? Today, she is an autobiographer and poet who has been called "America's most visible black female autobiographer". She says, "Courage allows the successful woman to fail and learn powerful lessons from the failure so that in the end, she didn't fail at all."

What about the famous inventor and business man Thomas Edison? Do you know it took him 10,000 tries to create a light bulb that could be manufactured? Here's what he had to say on the subject, "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."

And what of Henry Ford who had no education and went broke 5 times before he succeeded? Well he said, "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently."

The real secret here is not that all these incredibly successful people accepted, even welcomed, mistakes and failure, but that they didn't let the mistakes and failure stop them. They used it as an opportunity to learn and do better. They kept moving towards their vision - their heart's desire inside them.

Remember, the key to success is not to not get knocked down, the key to success is to get up one more time than you get knocked down.

Your Authentic Assignment

As you enter into a new year, allow your past to be your past. Stop beating yourself up for any mistakes you made. Learn from them, pick yourself up and try it again.

Like the saying goes, "If you knew better, you'd do better." Mistakes allow you to learn what you didn't know before. Don't let them stop you, don't allow them to keep you from getting your gifts out there. Like Wayne Dyer says, "Don't die with your music still inside you."

See any mistakes as the opportunity for success they are and use them to propel your business forward in the New Year, and please don't make the mistake of letting mistakes stop you.

Home Gym Machines For Natural Obesity Treatment

,
MAKING MUSIC BEATS :

Physical inactivity rather than diet is the major contributor to obesity. There is some evidence that obese children are just as active as their no obese peers, while obese adults seem to be less active than adults of normal weight. This inconsistency suggests that inactivity is more a consequence of obesity than a cause. Other studies have found that obese adults often eat no more than people of normal weight, but they do also exercise a great deal less. Even though the immediate effects of exercise are limited, the cumulative effects of even small increases in physical activity may be beneficial over the long term. The loss of body mass during weight reduction is minimized when both diet and exercise are used together compared to dieting alone. Exercise often decreases appetite, particularly among the more obese people. An increase in basal metabolism accompanying regular exercise can also promote weight loss and help counteract a decrease in metabolic rate produced by restricted caloric intake. It is not clear why more people do not choose exercise as a primary means of losing weight. Many people apparently believe that dieting is easier and less disruptive to their lives and some people mistakenly believe that they are not inactive. The best approach to losing weight is to combine exercise with caloric restriction. For long-term success, exercise must be part of a new life style.

Home Gym Machines For Natural Obesity Treatment

In order to make your exercise easier, one of the most popular motivational techniques in recent years has been the use of music in exercise and fitness activities. Listening to music while exercising can probably be considered as a disassociation method. The distraction of attention from unpleasant physical sensations to more pleasant auditory sensations seems to make the entire experience more exciting. Music for exercise must have an appropriate tempo for the activity. The correct mode and tempo of your music is so important. You can learn how to count beats and use other specific criteria in choosing music for your exercise activity. For more information on how to exercise at home, visit http://thehomegymmachine.com/.

Dance Lesson - How to Hear the Beat in the Music

,
MAKING MUSIC BEATS :

Learning to hear the different beats in music is like learning a new language. When you first start to learn a foreign language, it seems as if all the words run together into one long sentence. However, after you get familiar with the words, and get used to listening to the foreign language, each word becomes clear and easy to identify.

Dance Lesson - How to Hear the Beat in the Music

Music is a language; a very easy language to learn. It basically has four main words: One; Two; Three; Four.

One or First Beat, is the strongest sounding beat in each measure of music.

Two or Second Beat, is a light sounding beat following the strong First Beat.

Three or Third Beat, is a strong beat but not as strong as the First Beat.

Four or Fourth Beat, is the lightest beat in the measure or bar of music.

Waltz music is the exception to the rule with only three beats of music. The first beat is heavily accentuated and it is followed by two light beats. The rhythm is - heavy, light, light - heavy, light, light.

HEARING THE MUSIC AND CHOOSING THE DANCE

The first step in dancing to the music is to identify whether the style of the music has an American flavor, or a Latin flavor.

American Style songs, like Swings or Foxtrots (e.g. Frank Sinatra style), are easy to identify. The music has a heavy base drum sound on the First Beat that makes you want to tap your foot down.

A good exercise, while standing or sitting, is to practice tapping the foot on the First Beat and the Third beat of music - leave the heal on the floor and lift the front of the foot on the second and fourth beat. After getting comfortable hearing and tapping on the First and Third beats, start stepping on those beats instead of tapping.

Dances in the Latin Style tend to have a Latin flavor to all of them. However, they can have many rhythmic variations within the style.  Slow melodious Latin songs, like Rumba, are the easiest to dance and identify. Rather than a feeling of tapping with the foot the First beat on the Rumba makes you want to move.

American bands, playing Latin music, play easier to hear beats than Latin bands because they use drummers. Since most Latin Bands do not have drummers, many times you feel more like a "tempo" or a "pulse" - a wave that carries you, rather than hearing a clear beat (e.g. like feeling a pulse in someone's wrist). Some dances like Cha-Cha have a strong staccato feeling while others, like Samba, have more of a bouncy feeling.

The best exercise for Latin Music is to listen to a lot of Latin songs. Do not try to hear the beats, or dance to them. Just listen to the music and let your body respond to it when it wants to. After a while all four beats of the music will become very obvious.

Like any foreign language, learning to hear the beats in the music requires practice. Listen to dance music and let the music move you as you concentrate on other things. There will be two benefits to this practice; the beats will become very obvious to you, and you will develop a very strong sense of rhythm.

Happy listening,

Blanche & Emilio

Sonic Producer - The Perfect Rap Beat Maker? Find Out If This Software is Worth the Cash!

,
MAKING MUSIC BEATS :

If you are looking to make your own rap beats then unless you have a recording studio in your own home and all the expensive equipment to go with it you will most likely be looking for a desktop music producer alternative.

Sonic Producer - The Perfect Rap Beat Maker? Find Out If This Software is Worth the Cash!

There are a few about online and some very good options however they all tend to cater to different people, depending on your experience and what you want to create.

Now the first one that keeps on cropping up is called Cubase and this is best though of like an entire recording studio in your own home, but on your computer.

It has every function that you can think of and the amount of control it gives you over your music production is awesome.

The downside with Cubase is that if you want to get the most from it you will need to know alot about electronic music production and as well as that you can expect to pay out quite a lot of money for this software.

It works out at about 0, so this is really a pro package and you should only part with that much cash if you know what you are doing or if you are a DJ!

Then you have another program called Fruity Loops and this too is very good! This also gives you ultimate control but also has a hefty price tag coming in at 0!

So this leads us on to Sonic Producer and the way to think of this software is if you were to take the above pieces of software and trim them down so all you were left with were the essentials to make your first beat - that is what Sonic Producer would be.

It gives you all the things you need to produce a beat and surprisingly quickly too and in my opinion is perfect for beginners.

The other thing it gives you, since it is a membership site is a community of people that are making and producing music so you can compare your creations and also swap hints and tips.

The way it works is you get access to thousands of pre-recorded tracks and then you just use Sonic Producer to place them into your tune and you can add certain effects and so on...

There is even a keyboard so you can add various "jingles" to your music.

Once you are all done with a track that you like, you can burn it onto CD and take it with you.

If you are new and want to make your first rap beat this would be a cheaper and far easiest version to get started.

However if you already know about music production and are confident with all the elements that go into a recording studio maybe Cubase or Fruity Loops would be worth trying!

I hope this article has told you more about Sonic Producer and the other solutions on the market!

Remember stick with it and you will be making your own tunes in no time!

Guarantee Your Weight Loss Success

,
MAKING MUSIC BEATS :

Day after day I see and hear the same thing happening, people always seem to be really good at beginning an exercise regime or setting a goal to lose weight, however after a couple of weeks when asked about it they often tell you that they gave up or lost all interest. To get the body you want your going to have to put in the work and these exercises need to become habit.

Guarantee Your Weight Loss Success

Why do people succeed at their weight loss goals while others fail? Here are a few tips to help you keep motivated

o Exercise needs to be implemented into your daily life, it doesn't matter whether your walking, running, canoeing, playing squash swimming , bike riding it doesn't matter, put aside a little time each day, and try not to miss a beat, if something becomes a habit its here to stay, you should aim to have exercise come as naturally as brushing your teeth.

o Don't look for short cuts: you have to put in the time and effort if you want the body you've dreamed of. Prescription drugs which offer super quick weight loss can have very dangerous health effects and should be avoided. However natural weight loss supplements should be integrated into your healthy lifestyle to increase results.

o Realise that your body operates the best when you feed it a balanced diet: Give your body the good stuff, lots of vegetables fruits, organic food, vitamins and supplements. When your insides are in good health this will be displayed on the outside.

o Exercise needs to be enjoyed: for someone to exercise regularly they need to enjoy it otherwise it will become a chore not to mention a bore. Exercise with friends, or listen to music, mix things up, take a different route on your walk, or visit the beach today.

o Don't weigh yourself everyday: Your body's weight fluctuates on a daily basis, if you weight yourself every day some days it will appear you have put on weight, even if you have actual lost total body fat. Keep your weigh in for once a week, you will be much happier with the result and this will keep you motivated

o Last all of successful people have the mindset of a successful person: Set out your goals, be positive, smile and make sure you enjoy yourself.

The History of Rap and Hip Hop Music

,
MAKING MUSIC BEATS :

The origin of hip-hop can be traced back as far as the ancient tribes in Africa. Rap has been compared with the chants, drumbeats and foot-stomping African tribes performed before wars, the births of babies, and the deaths of kings and elders. Historians have reached further back than the accepted origins of hip-hop. It was born as we know it today in the Bronx, cradled and nurtured by the youth in the low-income areas of New York City.

The History of Rap and Hip Hop Music

Fast-forward from the tribes of Africa to the ghettos of Kingston, Jamaica in the late sixties. The impoverished of Kingston gathered together in groups to form DJ conglomerates. They spun roots and culture records and communicated with the audience over the music. At the time, the DJ's comments weren't as important as the quality of the sound system and its ability to get the crowd moving. Kool Herc grew up in this community before he moved to the Bronx.

During the late sixties, reggae wasn't popular with New Yorkers. As a DJ, Kool Herc spun rhythm and blues records to please his party crowd. But, he had to add his personal touch. During the breaks, Herc began to speak to his audience as he had learned to do in Jamaica. He called out, the audience responded, and then he pumped the volume back up on the record. This call and response technique was nothing new to this community who'd been reared in Baptist and Methodist churches where call and response was a technique used by the speakers to get the congregation involved. Historians compare it to the call and response performed by Jazz musicians and was very much a part of the culture of Jazz music during the renaissance in Harlem.

Herc's DJ style caught on. His party's grew in popularity. He began to buy multiple copies of the same albums. When he performed his duties as a DJ, he extended the breaks by using multiple copies of the same records. He chatted, as it is called in dance hall, with his audience for longer and longer periods.

Others copied Herc's style. Soon a friendly battle ensued between New York DJs. They all learned the technique of using break beats. Herc stepped up the game by giving shout-outs to people who were in attendance at the parties and coming up with his signature call and response. Other DJs responded by rhyming with their words when they spoke to the audience. More and more DJs used two and four line rhymes and anecdotes to get their audiences involved and hyped at these parties.

One day, Herc passed the microphone over to two of his friends. He took care of the turn table and allowed his buddies to keep the crowd hyped with chants, rhymes and anecdotes while he extended the breaks of different songs indefinitely. This was the birth of rap as we know it.

Hip-hop has evolved from the days of the basement showdowns to big business in the music industry. In the seventies and eighties, the pioneers and innovators of the rap record was the DJ. He was the guy who used his turntable to create fresh sounds with old records. Then, he became the guy who mixed these familiar breaks with synthesizers to produce completely new beats. Not much has changed in that aspect of hip-hop. The guy who creates the beat is still the heart of the track. Now, we call him the producer. Even though some DJs work as producers as well as DJs (quite a few start out as DJs before they become producers), today's title "DJ" doesn't carry the same connotative meaning it did in the eighties. Today's hip-hop producer performs the same tasks as the eighty's DJ.

Choosing Unique Wedding Ceremony Music

,
MAKING MUSIC BEATS :

The Power Of Three

Choosing Unique Wedding Ceremony Music

Making your wedding ceremony a true original can be as easy as choosing just
three special songs. This music is a reflection of you, your hopes and your
dreams. Seize this opportunity to give your guests an unexpected surprise
while sharing an important part of yourself with them.

While tradition still has its place, most Brides and Grooms are now choosing to
use non-traditional wedding ceremony music. Many of the old standbys, such
as Wagner's "Bridal Chorus" (Here Comes The Bride), are being replaced with
other alternatives. Those about to wed have requested Slow Rock, Love Songs,
Latin Guitar, New Age, Classic 40's Vocals, Pop Songs, Oldies and just about
everything else.

Choosing Your Songs

The first step is just to think of songs you like. You can edit your ideas later.
Make a short list of songs that relate to how you feel about love, commitment
and a special shared relationship. Feel free to consider all options. Once you've
made your list you can then edit it for potential Processional Song candidates.
Remember that in general, a Processional Song should have a slow cadence for
those walking down the aisle.

Choices have included songs by Nat King Cole, Sting, Andrea Bocelli, Mark
Cohn, Peter Gabriel, Enya, The Beatles, Shania Twain, Vangelis, Aretha Franklin,
Van Morrison, Tony Bennett, Edwin McCain, Vangelis, Faith Hill, Etta James,
Sade and Soundtrack Songs. Your choices are virtually unlimited.

We custom edited Van Halen's "When It's Love" for one Bride who wanted the
instrumental part of the song for her Processional. Another Bride was a huge
Bruce Springsteen fan. She walked down the aisle to The Boss classic, "Thunder
Road".

If you want to stick to classical music, you may decide on something a little
more creative than the same old thing. Anyone who's been to a ceremony in
the last century has probably heard Pachelbel's "Canon In D".
Traditionally a string oriented song, there is an updated version that uses
flowing synthesizers and ethereal keyboards in place of strings. Its
progressive, modern sound sets it apart from other versions we've heard.
Search for different arrangements or unusual Classical songs to give your
ceremony a unique sound.

Here Comes The Bride

Should all the songs in your ceremony have a consistent sound or theme? Not
necessarily. A contrasting style between the Wedding Party Processional and
the Bride's song can emphasize this important change. An example of this was
when one couple chose an operatic, Andrea Bocelli piece for their Wedding
Party Processional. The song was full of drama and grand expression.

In stark contrast to this was their choice for the Bride's Processional. They
decided on the romantic and reflective acoustic guitar sound of "The Rain
Song" by Led Zeppelin. The pronounced difference in song styles increased the
poignancy of the Bride's appearance and the entire ceremony.

While these songs aren't for everyone, they reflected this couple's taste and
preferences. It also serves as a wonderful demonstration of the power of a
musical style change and original choices.

Classical instrumental still has its place. Recently a Bride chose a lesser known
classical piece for her walk down the aisle. "Variations on an Original Theme
(Enigma Variations) Op. 36" is a fantastic selection for this. It's a powerful song
that uses soaring strings and majestic horns to slowly build to its peak. We
edited it so that the crescendo of the song timed perfectly with the Bride's
appearance.

Another Bride-to-be chose "Once Upon a Time... Storybook Love" from the
movie The Princess Bride. The title track from Cirque du Soleil's "O" is another
captivating piece that many have fallen in love with. "Variations and Fugue On a
Theme by Mozart, Op. 132: Variation 7" is a traditional classical piece that is
rarely heard at ceremonies. The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra's version is
breathtakingly elegant.

If you're going Classical for the wedding ceremony music, remember that there
may be quite a few different versions of many songs. It may take a little
research to find the perfect one but it is well worth the effort.

Recessional

The end of the ceremony Recessional is a time for joy and celebration. You will
walk triumphantly, back up the aisle, for the first time as a married couple. As
you pass by smiling, applauding guests, let the music add an extra highlight to
this moment. Your Recessional music should be upbeat and energetic. Again,
choices are plentiful. Past requests include Classical, Rock, Swing and R & B.

Songs by Vivaldi, Harry Connick, James Brown, U2, Barry White, Frank Sinatra,
Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, Queen, Marvin Gaye and many others have
worked to great effect.

Where To Look For Music

If you have a favorite movie soundtrack or radio station, your perfect song may
be something you have already heard. Next time you hear a song that really
grabs you, make a note of it.

One of the best places to find unique musical ideas is right in your own CD
collection. Chances are there's a favorite song in there you may have forgotten
about that would be perfect. Browse through your music library and add to
your list of possibilities.

Do you have a favorite artist or concert performance? What was that old song
you loved when you were younger?

Is there a brand new song you really like? A newer song can be a refreshing
change from the status quo. And there is less chance anybody else has already
used it for their wedding.

Perhaps there is something in your family heritage you would like to
incorporate musically into the ceremony.

If you have a special moment in the ceremony for a candle lighting, rose
exchange, remembrance or other tradition, you may want to choose a song to
be played for this as well.

Samples of songs can be accessed via your computer on Apple's iTunes music
store website (The iTunes program is free and works with both Windows based
and Mac computers) and at Amazon.com. Barnes and Noble bookstores offer
live listening posts with thousands of artists from which to choose.

Putting It All Together

Write down all of your musical ideas and then gradually narrow it down to your
three favorites. The others can be played for the Prelude- prior to the
beginning of the ceremony, while guests are arriving or later at the
reception.

Contrasting music is good and emphasizes an important change in the
Processional. Be dynamic in your choices and create a new sound experience
for your guests.

Take the first step in making your wedding day truly YOURS by choosing songs
that express a bit of who you are. And don't be surprised if your guests
compliment you on how your ceremony was unlike any other they've been
to.

Breathe Slowly, Not Deeply, For Anxiety and Panic Attacks

,
MAKING MUSIC BEATS :

Anxiety and panic attacks can happen to anyone at any time. Most people experience them at some time in their lives, although it's more common in adolescence and early adulthood. If you suffer from them then you're well aware of the dread that washes over you. Your heart races, you might tremble, feel dizzy, or even start hyperventilating. These are just a few of the more common symptoms.

Breathe Slowly, Not Deeply, For Anxiety and Panic Attacks

You might be troubled by just minor spells of anxiety or you may be experiencing so much panic that it dramatically affects your life. Some people can find that the condition prevents them from concentrating, going out in public, maintaining a social life or continuing to work.

It doesn't help that researchers aren't exactly sure what causes panic attacks in the first place. Psychological or emotional issues were once the presumed cause but now we know that there are many organic factors behind anxiety as well. But no matter what the cause of your anxiety or panic disorder, the sooner you find a solution the better. Luckily, there are many ways to help cope with the condition and to relieve the terrible symptoms and discomfort.

The first thing you should do is to visit your doctor, especially if you are having trouble functioning in your normal routine or if you have any thoughts of harming yourself. Sometimes there may be a physical cause to the problem and this needs to be ruled out by a thorough medical checkup. Even if no physical problem can be found, there are many medications that can be helpful. Anti-anxiety drugs are powerful and should not be taken lightly but they may offer a short-term way through a difficult patch.

Fortunately, most cases of anxiety do not require medication and there are many effective natural ways of coping. The first and possibly most important step is to talk about it with someone you trust. You can do this with someone close to you like a family member, friend or partner. Some people may feel more comfortable talking with a professional such as a doctor or counselor. Or you can take the group support approach. It can be comforting to exchange feelings and gain insights from other people who share your problem. There are many anxiety and panic support groups; the Internet would be a good place to start your search.

Various forms of relaxation are often recommended to prevent or reduce anxiety and panic attacks. Some of the most common of these are meditation, yoga or breathing exercises. Unfortunately, it can prove very difficult to relax in the midst of a panic attack! Fear is a stimulus for your body to go into "fight or flight" mode when both your circulatory and respiratory systems are kicked into overdrive. This produces the universal panic symptoms of a racing heart and hyperventilation. Of course it's very difficult to control our heartbeat but we are all capable of learning to control our breathing.

Breathing control offers by far the best strategy to prevent or halt a panic attack. Because the circulatory and respiratory systems are so closely connected, affecting one of them will affect the other. What this means is that if you can control your breathing you will control your heartbeat and stop the panic or anxiety attack.

A common misunderstanding about breathing to cope with anxiety is the notion of deep breathing. This can be dangerous advice! The problem is that you will probably already be over-breathing if you are experiencing extreme anxiety or panic. Deep breathing under these circumstances will result in hyperventilation and will worsen the attack. It's no wonder that many people are permanently put off breathing techniques as a result!

"Slow breathing" offers the better solution. Slow breathing for just 15 minutes a day will help prevent attacks by reducing general levels of anxiety. What's more, it will teach you a valuable technique that can quickly reverse panic attacks if and when they happen.

The point of slow breathing is to inhale and exhale gently and slowly in a controlled way, calming yourself with each breath. Watch the way babies breathe when they sleep; they've got it right! As we grow older and accumulate stress and bad habits we begin to breathe quickly and shallowly, even more so when feeling anxious. Slow breathing - considered a rate below 10 breaths per minute - will help reverse this pattern and decrease stress and anxiety.

Slow breathing is very effective on its own but it can be even better - and more enjoyable - when combined with music. Music is relaxing and therapeutic in its own right, shown to lower blood pressure in stressful environments such as hospitals. Think about it; people have relaxed to music for centuries! Practicing slow breathing with the right type of gentle, slow-tempo music actually helps you to learn the method as your breathing tends to naturally synchronize with the beat of the music. Slow breathing and music will relax you deeply and rid you of anxiety with each exhale.

One further advantage of slow breathing with music is that you can actually get special tracks of music mixed and synchronized with a track that will guide your breathing. Carried in an mp3 player this makes a totally portable therapeutic aid that can help stave off or reverse a panic attack within minutes. With practice you can even internalize the breathing technique and use it any time you need a moment of peace and calm, with no external aide whatsoever.

Living with any type of anxiety disorder is no laughing matter. Drugs offer an extreme form of temporary relief. Most forms of passive relaxation tend to also be short-lived and too little too late when a full-blown anxiety attack strikes. But slow breathing with music offers a unique and highly effective way to harness nature's own power to calm.

Important Tips About Body Building

,
MAKING MUSIC BEATS :

Stretching exercises are recognized as a necessary part of any fitness training and physical activity; many muscle and joint injuries have been prevented this way. There are also a number of precautionary measures and tips to serve as guidelines when doing fitness exercises. Many people consider it unnecessary but people who do not perform stretching movements before and after a workout are more likely to hurt themselves. This flexibility is further improved when you carry out muscle and tendon stretching exercises after you have finished any physical activity.

Important Tips About Body Building

While holding a position for a mere twenty seconds is enough for a warm, to really get the benefit when you have completed your workout you need to hold that position for a good minute. When carrying out these warm-up stretches, perform them slowly and gently, returning to the starting position in the same way as this will provide the greatest benefit. Ideally the stretch should last a few seconds then a slow return because it is easy to damage joints or even pull muscles when this is not done correctly. If you work the exercises in stages it will be easier and build up to the hardest stretches as you warm-up, this will also ensure all your muscles receive equal attention.

For some people, even if they have strong bodies, they tend to neglect the neck when working out because stretching the neck muscles can be as simple as placing the palm of one's hand against the front of the head and pushing it; then, do the same to the sides and the back of the head. Stretch regularly before fitness training to continually increase your range of movements and your level of flexibility and strength. It is never worth attempting certain moves because others can manage them; wait until you are ready, remember not to over-stretch your self and you will gain more from it. There are days when your body may be too tired that you may have to consider reducing your range of motion so learn to rest in between sets and stations to make sure that the body has enough time to recover its energy.

Fitness training everyday can be punishing for the muscles and does not allow them to heal and grow so try to leave a day between workouts. Increasing your lung capacity, which means you won't get out of breath so easily and heart improvement exercises like walking, running and rowing for instance are the best to start with and you will find weight machines much easier to use. It is well known that music makes exercise easier as the beat is something you can follow and these days the tiny mp3 players can be attached without too much bother. Just make sure that you take your headset with you so you won't disturb people who may prefer not to listen to your music while exercising. If you are someone who has trouble relaxing or sleeping then you may want to consider stretching exercises as it is good for you even if you are not working out.

8 Tips For Learning the Art of Sight-Reading Written Music

,
MAKING MUSIC BEATS :

Sight-reading music is a common practice among piano players. This is when you play a piece of music for the first time, even though it may be unfamiliar to you. Though it is not common to play a song perfectly the first time through, here are 8 tips to make sight-reading music easier for you.

8 Tips For Learning the Art of Sight-Reading Written Music

Tip # 1. Key Signature. Pay close attention to the key signature of the piece you are about to play. Try to remember the appropriate sharps and flats in that key signature so you will know to play those whenever they occur throughout the song.

Tip # 2. Time Signature. This is also important to look at before you start sight-reading the piece. You will need to know what kind of note gets one beat. You will also need to remember how many beats are in each measure.

Tip # 3. Changes in Key and Time Signatures. Check through your music for any changes to the key signature or time signature. This will help prepare you for a transition that can happen in the middle of a song when you otherwise did not know about it.

Tip # 4. Starting and Ending Notes. It helps if you are familiar with the starting and ending note or chord of a song before you start playing. These are good reference points to guide you during your sight-reading.

Tip # 5. Note the Rhythm. Check your left hand chords to see what rhythm is used throughout the piece. As you look through the song, you usually can get an idea of how it will go. This will ease you through when trying to play the correct rhythm during sight-reading.

Tip # 6. Play the Melody First. Also look through the right hand melody line. It helps to play just the melody first if possible. This will help give you an idea of the sound of the song and then you can put it all together and you will be able to identify the unique melodic line.

Tip # 7. Check for Other Markings. Look through the entire piece and check for any other markings covered in Music Terminology. Some examples include the loudness or softness of the piece, the speed of the music, and how long you should actually hold each note that is played.

Tip # 8. Relax and Focus. Finally, before you play it is important to take a deep breath and relax yourself. Focus on what you are about to play. Try to play the song all the way through for your first sight-reading. This gives you a general idea of what the song will sound like. Later you can break it down and work on each measure or group of measures as you see fit. Remember. We are playing music for the love of it, not as a chore.

Maybe you are asking yourself why you should learn to sight-read music. Why not just learn the song a little bit at a time? Sight-reading forces you to move forward at a faster pace until you finish the song, ultimately helping you learn to play music faster. You can avoid bad habits of starting and stopping too often and delaying your progress on a specific piece of music. Sight-reading is an important skill to learn if you wish to become a good piano player.

Do You Want a Low Stress Job?

,
MAKING MUSIC BEATS :

Stress in the workplace has gained very much unpleasant popularity among people around the world. Stress has even earned the title of being "The 20th Century Disease" as coined by the United Nations in 1992 and referred to as a "World Wide Epidemic" by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Do You Want a Low Stress Job?

The reason for its increasing popularity is the increasing number of stress-related health problems such as irritation, depression, headaches, migraines and even life-threatening chronic diseases like heart attacks. More and more people are suffering from these stress-related health problems, sometimes without even realizing that they are caused by the stress they get from work or from personal problems around the house.

Some people find ways to de-stress by going to the gym and working out; some go dancing or clubbing every Friday after a week of long hard work; some attend yoga classes; some still try to switch to less stressful jobs. While stress has become synonymous with jobs and people think that there is no job that does not entail stress, there are still jobs out there that cause low or no stress at all if you are really very good at it. To give you an idea here's a list of low stress jobs and why are they considered to be such.

-Dog Walker

I guess the number one low stress job out there is the dog walker. In every busy city, there are a lot of dog owners that do not have time to spend enough time with their dogs and give the necessary walking exercise once in a while. So more and more dog owners hire dog walkers to give their dogs the time that they can not give.

This job is low stress because all you have to do is walk dogs at the park. How hard could walking and playing with dogs be? In fact, it could even help you de-stress from your own cares at home. Scientific studies prove that taking care of pets, or even just caressing the furry friends, relax and soothe the tired mind.

-Pastry Chef

Second in my list of low stress jobs is being a pastry chef. Baking and designing pastries is indeed an art. Creating artwork also has a soothing effect to the one working on it. Although pastry making entails a lot of hard work and sometimes even odd working hours, it brings satisfaction and a sense of fulfillment for the chefs. That is if you are artistic and creative and you love the arts.

If you love what you are doing, there is very little room for frustration and irritation, hence less stress. Besides, who could get stressed in a workplace smelling of sugar, butter and cinnamon?

-Video clerk

Another top low stress and even fun job is the video clerk, where you can watch movies while doing your job. You also get to talk and give customers piece of advice or suggestions about which movies are good and which are not. In this business, customers turn to you as an expert of movies hence employers allow their staffs to watch movies while working. It would ensure customer loyalty if the video clerk serving them knows a lot about movies and gets to interact with them in a meaningful way.

What more, since store hours do not begin until 10 am, you can extend sleep without having to worry about beating the morning rush as most people are already in their workplaces at this time. You get to hang around cool people discussing movies and music.

-Massage or Physical Therapist

Since this job is centered on making people relaxed and calm, the therapist is trained well on the art of relaxation. As an expert therapist, you can apply the exercises you advise to other people to yourself as well. Of course, you have to practice what you teach.

Besides how can giving back rubs to patients or clients be stressing? Sure, giving a really good massage can strain your muscles, but did you notice that you usually feel more relaxed after a workout? The same principle applies here, you just have to learn how to keep your back straight during the massage.

Also, these sessions are usually done in a relaxing room where the lights are dim and with soothing and relaxing background music.

These are only a few of the many low stress jobs out there. You just have to be not too picky. After all, high-profile careers are usually the ones that are most stressful.

How to Make a Professional Music Video at Home

,
MAKING MUSIC BEATS :

How to Create Your Own Professional Music Video from Home

How to Make a Professional Music Video at Home

Today, many who go web-surfing run into spoof music videos that get millions of views. Sadly, more than half of those people who got 1,000,000+ views missed an opportunity of earning ,000 or more from just that YouTube upload. Why is this so? I will let you know near the end of this article. Shall we get back to the topic?

For those who think it isn't possible to make a high quality music video from home like the ones you see on television, I am here to tell you that it IS possible to make even BETTER videos. You may not be able to create one as good on the first try, but again who is? It takes perfection; following these 5 steps:

Step 1: Music

Of course a music video isn't a music video without music. Find an instrumental that you want to create a song to and download it. A good program that I recommend for downloading instrumentals would be Frostwire. You can download it from frostwire.com. It is completely free to download and use. Or so it was the last time I checked. Be careful when downloading from Frostwire though. The first two or three files at the top are usually tricks, but you can easily tell them apart. The false ones usually match your search phrase word for word, letter for letter, and are lower case. Also check the file size to the right of each result. Instrumentals and songs are usually at an average file size of 1,000 Kb for each minute of a song. So if an instrumental you're looking for is about 3 minutes long, the file size should be around 3,000 Kb. The false ones at the top are usually at a small file size, around 10-30 kb.

I used to use Frostwire until I began creating my own music with music production software. If you want to make money from YouTube, I suggest you make your own instrumentals like I do. Anyone can learn to make a simple beat. Some good music production software I recommend to use for the PC would be Fruity Loops Studio. The latest version is FL Studio 9, but FL Studio 5, 6, 7, and 8 are just as good. If you want to pay for it, you can buy it at your local computer store or online at flstudio.com, but if you want it for free, I suggest you use Frostwire, since it can also download programs for free too. For the Mac users, your computer should already come with a music production software called GarageBand. In my opinion, GarageBand's instruments sound more professional than Fruity Loops. Both programs have user manuals available in the help menu and Garageband has a beginner tutorial. For any other tutorials, I suggest that you search YouTube for Fruity Loops Beginner Tutorials or Garageband beginner tutorials.

Other PC Music Production softwares include Reason, Sonar, and Nuendo. Another Mac music production software is Logic Pro. The music industry itself specializes mainly with a software called Protools. It's compatible with both PC and Mac, but is usually the software preferred for studio recording. If you decide to use Protools at all, I recommend that you buy it rather than downloading it for many reasons. Trust me on this one.

Step 2: Lyrics

Of course, music videos don't ALWAYS have lyrics, but if you do decide to, make sure you write lyrics to the instrumental and keep them for the studio recording, which we will get to later. (Lyrical tip: Keep your lyrics fairly clean and it may be more marketable! Make it hilarious or comical, and it may get more plays! Ex. Search "White and Nerdy" on YouTube)

Step 3: Home Studio (Session) Recording

The best software for studio session recording starters is Cool Edit Pro. Cool Edit Pro is only PC compatible though. I learned it on my own through experimentation, but for tutorials, I'm sure you can find them on YouTube. There is also a user manual in the help menu. You can also download Cool Edit Pro for free using Frostwire. For the Mac users, once again, congratulations! You can record yourself using Garageband! To do so after you have finished creating your instrumental on Garageband, at the top click Track> New Track> Real Instrument> Create. You will notice that on the left, a track for recording appears that is titled "No Effects". If you have a microphone plugged in, test it out by speaking into it. The green bar next to "No Effects" should rise every time you speak. If not, check your System Preferences for Sound and switch to Built-In Mic/Internal Microphone. Most Mac laptops have a built-in microphone. Most of them are found on the left speaker at the bottom right side, but only on laptops. For PC laptops, your microphone may be found in the top of the monitor in the middle, left, or right corner.

For more advanced users, session recordings can be done with Protools. You can buy microphones, but the cheap ones are usually not good recording microphones at all. If you have a built-in microphone, you're in luck; because believe it or not, it is better than most microphones under . Just make sure you adjust the volumes of each separate recording you do accordingly, regardless of which mic you use. You can make a bad mic sound much better than it does by altering the volumes.

P.S Tip: How to Autotune

Unfortunately, I only know how to do Autotune with the Fruity Loops users and the Garageband users. For the FL users, you have to download a plug-in called Antares and drag it into Fruity Loops. As for the Mac and Garageband users..... you guys are very lucky. GarageBand comes with a built-in Autotuning system. To use it, at the top click Track> New Track> Real Instrument> Create. If your Audio Region at the bottom is not visible, at the top, click Control> Show Editor, or just press Apple+E. Turn the "Enhance Tuning" in your Audio Region all the way up. Then look just below that switch, and check in the box "Limit to Key".

Step 4: Recording the video

To record the video, you're going to need a decent quality camera. But just because you have a decent quality camera alone doesn't mean that the video is going to be great. It's all about how you put it together. As far as quality goes, I recommend the Jazz Elite HD Portable Camera for starters. It's a 0 high definition camera, but you can get it for only 0 at electrotech.totalwarehouse.com. I haven't found a cheaper high definition video camera online yet, but if I do, I will let you know. Also, looking into getting a tripod would help for stabilization. You can find those at Wal-mart for pretty low prices.

Also, if you're trying to make money on YouTube, make sure to keep other company products' logos and titles out of the video as much as possible. YouTube can prevent money making from almost any logo being shown publicly in your video. This also includes logos on shirts, so just make sure that whatever clothing you choose to wear for the video, that the emblems or logos of your shirt's producers are not visible.

Step 5: Putting the video together

Hook up your camera to the computer and transport all of your video clips in a folder. For PC video production beginners, I recommend using Windows Movie Maker. It comes with every Windows computer. If you can't find it, just click Start (or the windows icon for Vista users) at the bottom left side of the screen. Go to Programs> Accesssories> Windows Movie Maker, or Programs> Accessories> Entertainment> Windows Movie Maker. If you can't find it in either of those places, go to My Computer, open up the Local Drive (usually C:), and go to the Program Files folder. Look for a folder called Windows Movie Maker and look for the startup icon. For Mac users, there is iMovie. The video clips can be dragged or imported into both of these programs to use. If your PC or Mac came with the Adobe Collection, you may also use Adobe Premiere Pro, which is compatible with both computers. Adobe After Effects is a more advanced software to use for special effects, but you can easily learn it through 10 short tutorials at videocopilot.net. A much more advanced video editor is Final Cut Pro for the Mac users, used by real industry movie makers.

There are video tutorials for all of these softwares on YouTube, but, in my opinion, Windows Movie Maker is ridiculously easy to use; but Adobe Premiere has more tools and effects that you can do to your video. Adobe Premiere also has green screen keying, which Movie Maker does not have. If you are looking to make music video production or music production a future career, I suggest you look into a college called Full Sail University. It is known as the "Harvard of Entertainment and Media Schools" and has one of the three best film programs in the world and the top 5 Recording Arts programs in the country. It is a high-paced school, and you can receive your Bachelor's in either program in 20 months. To look further into this school, visit the Full Sail website.

Make sure you render your video in a high quality setting too. "Rendering" just means saving the video in video format. The higher the quality, the longer it may take to finish saving the video, but it may be worth it. If you have the Jazz Elite HD Portable Camera, you may not have to worry about quality as much.

Extra Step: Earn Money Through YouTube

To earn money, simply reach over 200,000 views with your video. YouTube will send you instructions on how to set it up and will review your video to make sure that there are no copyright infringements.

But as for music videos in general, I've seen the best and I've seen the worst. The quality of the final product all comes down to how you use these tools to the best of your creative ability. Show laziness in production, and lazy is how the final product will appear to be. Happy music making!
